Foundation FTAM(TM) for Solaris(R) is part of ONE's Foundation Series ofintegrated, standards- based communications products designed formission-critical networking environments. Foundation Series producARPonsinfrastructural applications including automated air traffic control andair defense systems, electric utility energy management, networkmanagement and telecommunications. Foundation FTAM is designedspecifically for File Taransfer, Access and Management initiatorapplications and complies with industry specifications, profiles andrecommendations including: -- SONET/SDH (Synchronous OpticalNetwork/Synchronous Digital Hierarchy -- CDPD (Cellular DigitalPacket Data) and -- TMN (Telecommunications Management Network)Foundation FTAM provides services which can be used to downloadexecutable images, data and provisional parameters to Network Elements(NEs) as well as upload binary and text data from NEs. Foundation FTAMprovides a 'C' language API interface for FTAM initiator services. Theservices are used by Network Element applications to read or write FTAM-1or FTAM-3 type documents, read or change FTAM file attributes and readNBS-9 FTAM directory files. In addition, Foundation FTAM allows theapplication to read or write the remote file in small, manageable pieces.This allows the application to relocate portions of the file to secondarystorage, such as NVRAM or FLASH RAM.
